Sizes of football used in different levels of play

There are three main sizes of football used in different levels of play:

  1. Size 3: This is the smallest size football and is typically used for younger children between the ages of 6 and 9 years old. The ball has a circumference of 23-24 inches and weighs between 11-12 ounces.
  2. Size 4: This is the intermediate size football and is used for children between the ages of 9 and 14 years old. The ball has a circumference of 25-26 inches and weighs between 12-13 ounces.
  3. Size 5: This is the standard size football and is used for players aged 14 and above, including adults. The ball has a circumference of 27-28 inches and weighs between 14-16 ounces.
